Tracy & Becky has been in operation since 1972. It is open year round, five days per week, with closings on major holidays, severe/inclement weather situations and for one week in July for a summer break.
The Center has affordable rates and qualified Staff. It is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, offering educational and age appropriate activities to foster growth and development.
Our philosophy is one in which all children should be allowed to thrive within an environment that is loving, safe and nurturing. Children learn at their own pace. We foster learning in this way, keeping in mind that all children are different and that all children learn in different ways. Our goals are to ensure that children have as many learning experiences as possible.
Our youngest preschool class is a class with many learning opportunities. A variety of activities are offered each day along with teacher-directed activities. The children in this class get introduced to a classroom setting… learning many skills, especially in the area of socialization and self-help.
Our prekindergarten classes are designed to expose the children to as many skills as they may encounter in Kindergarten. These skills are all developmentally appropriate and are taught through various methods of teaching. We strive to make the children feel more independent and more self-confident. We praise the children for their efforts and encourage them to adopt a positive self-image. We guide them along a path that will bring as much success as possible.
All of our programs offer equal amounts of free choice time and structured activities which are teacher directed/managed. The play items and activities are age appropriate and are based upon the children’s interest levels. During free play time periods and instruction time, the children are able to learn valuable cognitive, fine/gross motor, language, emotional and social skills. These skills, when reinforced, help to augment not only academic success but also allow the children to grow independently. We take pride in helping the children to become more attentive and to help them understand the importance of completing tasks
Our philosophy also reinforces the fact that preschool is a safe and happy place for a young child to grow and develop emotional, social, cognitive, fine/gross motor, language and self-help skills. Our Staff engages children in all of the above areas and help them to thrive in the preschool setting.
